The laughter is coming to Bristol when Homebrewed Comedy hits the stage at Lock Stock Bar & Grill on Thursday, July 28. Sarah Benson is headlining the show and Sara Shipley and Todd Gursslin will join host Mike Peters.

The show starts at 8 p.m., and we're asking for a $5 donation at the door. Seating begins at 7:30, so come out and enjoy the show and tip the bartenders extra well.

About the comedians:

Mike Peters, a Binghamton comedian, specializes in self-deprecating, observational humor. A contributor for Funny or Die, Peters performed at the Funny Bone in Syracuse, the Greenwich Village Comedy Club in New York City, won the Utica Brews Laugh Contest and Uptown Roast Battle and opened for Super Troopers’ Rabbit, Erik Stolhanske, and Gilbert Gottfried. Peters produces shows all over New York and hosts his weekly podcast, On the Mic with Mike Peters.

Todd Gursslin is a stand-up comedian based out of Rochester and a co-host of two podcasts, Can You Laugh About It Now and Hate This Podcast. You wouldn’t think an ex-heroin addict in his 40s would be mature enough not to subject himself into an ego-driven artform that breeds mental illness. No Gursslin. He’s looking to fill the giant hole left over from past trauma by making people laugh. A regular at the Comedy at the Carlson, Gursslin has opened for Dan Soder, Mike Recine and StavrosHalkias.

Sara Shipley is a quick-rising star within the Upstate, N.Y., comedy scene. The 2021 winner of Rochester’s Funniest Person, Shipley is a performance triple threat -- improvisor, actor and comedian. She’s opened for some of the biggest names in comedy, including April Macie, Tammy Pescatelli and Jim Norton. She performs stand-up regularly at Comedy at the Carlson in Rochester and at the Focus Theater with The Urge Improv team.

Sarah Benson is one of the strongest comedians in Rochester. She came up through the Rochester scene before spending a few years in Denver. Benson has performed across the country, working at the ComedyWorks in Denver, the Helium Comedy Club in Buffalo, the Comedy Bar in Toronto and The Improv in Orlando, Fla. She's hosted monthly shows in Denver and Rochester and opened for Pete Holmes, Chris Kattan and The Grawlix.
